Large groupings of shops (usually under one name). These include both shopping centres and malls.
- A Shopping Area is any group of shops together in an area. The nature of the shopping area can range from local shops, through suburban shopping areas, up to city CBDs. Single shops on their own do not qualify as a shopping area.
- A mall is a group of shops around a pedestrian precinct. Generally, a mall will be covered, and usually privately owned, although it can include shops around a closed street converted to a pedestrian space.
